Sustainable Integrated Development and Biodiversity Conservation in the Grenadine Islands (St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada) Phase 2: Implementing the strategic plan.
Research:The integrated sustainable development of the Grenadine Islands area for the social and economic well being of the people who live there.
Purpose:To implement those parts of the plan developed in phase 1, that are associated with the environment the use of the marine resources. To build civil society capacity for participating in sustainable development. To develop a model for participatory sustainable development in small island systems that can be adapted and applied elsewhere.

Partners:Coastal and Marine Management Program (CaMMP) of the Caribbean Conservation Association. Headquarters in Barbados, CERMES, University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados, Projects Promotion Ltd., St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Carriacou Environmental Committee, Grenada. NGOs in the Grenadine Islands, Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Government of Grenada.

Duration:December 2004 - December 2008
Funding: The Lighthouse Foundation, Germany, is the main funder of this project covering 85% of the costs. The University of the West Indies, Natural Resource Management Programme is providing support of 8% and the remaining 7% is being sought.
